ThermoWood® Spruce is thermally modified spruce (Picea abies) that undergoes a computer‑controlled process in which the wood is heated to approximately 200°C in a low‑oxygen (inert) environment. Through this combination of heat and steam — without any chemical additives — the cell structure of the wood is permanently altered.

The result is an environmentally friendly and dimensionally stable product with increased durability, an extended service life and a warm light‑brown colour that gradually weathers to a deep silver‑grey tone.

ThermoWood® Spruce is an excellent alternative to tropical hardwoods, offering a significantly lower ecological footprint.
